'She Chose Science' superwide wallpaper £280 per panel

We collaborated with Sarah Thornton, an artist inspired by the natural world, to create ‘She Chose Science’ superwide wallpaper.

'She Chose Science' was inspired by founder Charlotte's mum who was unusual in her decision as a woman to study for a science degree in the late 1960's. The graph paper which forms the basis of the design was found during a clear out of her laboratory.

Artist Sarah sketched her famous birds, colouring in the squares with a kaleidoscope of watercolour paints. The design has been reproduced exactly as the original, revealing the detail of the pencil markings, and retaining the matt texture of the original graph paper.

I aligned myself with those pioneering women artists of the past, looking at the things around me for my inspiration, nature, flowers, motifs that brought comfort and beauty into my world. - Sarah Thornton

This superwide paper is available as two 140cm wide panels with a 3m drop, with the extra large pattern repeat lending an uncluttered, airy feel to a large space whilst adding interest and colour. The paper also creates the perfect backdrop to Sarah Thornton’s vibrant ‘Rita does Jazz’ velvet.

The large scale abstract print was taken from a watercolour sketch by artist Sarah Thornton, and makes an amazing statement in contemporary, mid century and period homes.

Perfect for giving a new lease of life to vintage furniture, this fabric has been used for everything from Ercol cushions to cinema seats.

Rita does Jazz velvet creates an energetic statement in a room, working well in Contemporary, Mid Century and Maximalist settings, and can be used for upholstery, curtains and blinds.
