This bespoke handpainted classic Shaker kitchen was designed, made and installed by Higham Furniture for a professional couple with three children living in Beckenham, Kent.
Responding to the client’s brief for a painted Shaker kitchen with contemporary appliances, the in-frame cabinetry includes a frame to ground plinth and Oak shelving to add a modern twist to a classic style. Providing a complementary effect between the run of cabinetry and the island, the 30mm thick SG Carrara quartz worktop is also used for the sink run, and in a 20mm thickness for the splashback. Facing the task side are four deep pan drawers and three cutlery drawers above.
To the left of the cabinetry run is a storage cupboard next to a bank of ovens by Siemens. To the right are further slim storage cabinets next to a Fisher & Paykel French Door Fridge Freezer. Within the sink run is an integrated 60cm dishwasher by Miele, the undermount sink is by Franke with a Quooker Fusion Square 3-in-1 Boiling Water Tap. On the island is a 90cm induction hob in front of a 90cm downdraft extractor, both by Siemens, and facing the task side is a wine cooler by mQuvée.
The carcases are lacquered Oak veneer with Tulipwood frames and Maple doors and drawers, painted in Little Greene Dark Lead 118. Ball knob and pull cup handles and hinges are all in satin nickel and are by Armac Martin.
