Can you tell us a bit about you, your role and the business? 

  

I am the brand director at Annie Sloan. I worked for 19 years at Future Publishing as a group publisher. I then worked as brand director for two online SMEs looking to sell. I joined Annie Sloan in 2022. 

  

As brand director I develop, direct and manage the Annie Sloan brand to maximise revenue and grow market share. Part of my role is to manage our global PR activities. 

  

Annie Sloan Interiors is a family run, business based in Oxford. The company was established in 1990 when artist and interiors expert Annie Sloan invented her revolutionary furniture paint, Chalk Paint™. 

Nobody is better qualified to invent and manufacture paint than Annie Sloan. Annie has published 26 books on paint effects, colour, and interior design. 


The invention of Chalk Paint™ resulted from Annie’s need for a paint that could be used to achieve endless decorative effects – and quickly. Chalk Paint™ satisfies that brief perfectly, as it can be applied to wood, glass, metal, brick and even laminate, left to dry, and then waxed within one day. 


In 2021, Annie introduced her Wall Paint, combining premium pigments with Annie’s in-depth knowledge of the history of interiors and the practicality of an easy to use, durable, wipe-clean, finish. Annie Sloan Satin Paint, a hard-wearing, soft-sheen paint for interior wood and metal, was then added to the range. 

Annie Sloan is widely considered one of the world’s leading authorities in paint, colour, and style and in 2023 she was awarded a CBE for services to Interior Design. She is committed to making the world a more colourful place, saving unloved furniture from landfill, and giving you the power to transform your home.  

 

Which PR Activities do you do with Press Loft? 

  

We use Press Loft primarily to make our library of images available to interiors press. We hope to add many more images in the next few months. We get great exposure in interiors magazines, particularly in the UK. 


We also respond to relevant press requests, providing imagery and quotes. We hope to start issuing press releases using Press Loft in the next few weeks. 

  

What were you doing before you used Press Loft? 

We had a PR agency who supplied images direct to press. Our images were saved on Dropbox. 


How is Press Loft helping your company and/or you in your role? 

  

We have brought PR in house and Press Loft is a wonderful way of us maintaining our press relationships in a cost effective and direct way. We are resource light so Press Loft acts as our PR agency in some ways.

What sort of business would you recommend Press Loft to? 

  

Any business wanting to make PR easy and affordable and ensure their images are seen by all the movers and shakers in the media.
