Can you tell us a bit about you, your role and The French bedroom Company?


I’m Georgia Metcalfe, Founder of The French Bedroom Company.   As company director I manage the marketing, buying and company strategy.


I worked in PR (both in house, agency and as a consultant) for ten years before I started The French Bedroom Company in 2006.  My background in PR & Marketing gives me the knowledge and experience to know which PR tools work, and how to really get the best from them.


When I started The French Bedroom Company we had super low budgets, and so managed all PR in house ourselves.  We used Press Loft right from the beginning (I think we might even have been one of the first customers!).


Which PR Activities do you do with Press Loft?


We currently have over 1,700 lives images.  We publish 2 press releases a month and create collections of images.   We also receive press requests directly via Press Loft.  In addition, we download reports to give us insight into anticipated publicity, giving us a strategic steer on stock ordering.


How is Press Loft helping your brand?


Press Loft is an effective and time-saving way of storing our images, distributing press releases and also being reactive to requests from our current press contacts, as well as new journalists, bloggers and influencers.


We wouldn’t have the time nor press contacts to be able to reach out to nearly as many journalists ourselves!   Also, as more people work flexible hours, it means journalists burning the midnight oil can just hop onto Press Loft 24 hours a day to download any of our images and view press releases.


What were you doing before you used Press Loft?


Back in the dark ages we’d send out press releases by post, with mini prints attached.  Those were the days before everyone had email.  We started using Press Loft in 2006, so we’ve only ever known the benefits of having a 24 hour online image library.


Who would you recommend Press Loft to?


Both small and large businesses.  It’s a great time-saving tool when you’re staring up, and have really limited resources and time to spend on PR - but when you need it most.



Do you have a Favourite piece of Press Coverage via Press Loft?


We love all coverage: local, national and consumer.  We’ve recently been featured in Red Magazine which we all love, as well as Ideal Home Magazine and Good Housekeeping which are fantastic publications for circulation and readership, really boosting sales.
